A little video I made recently, outlining a typical conversation I've had many times about what I'm doing with my life.

Here are some of my favorite links and fun facts about me and my dog (THEO!)

Some non singing facts:  I have a thing for people calling me "Ms. Richardson"--I LOVE it! (not miss, it has to be ms.)  I survived Catholic elementary/middle school. I have a serious shoe addiction. Some day, I'd love to sit down for a cup of coffee with Madonna, my idol and inspiration growing up and the reason I started taking voice lessons and studying dance and music in the first place. I never imagined it would lead to the styles of music I perform now, but hey, whatever works. I love to write and find the humorous side of every situation--maybe I'll be lucky enough to write for SNL or do stand-up at some point! I enjoy a good drag show. I would eat ketchup and drink wine with almost everything. I stay in shape by walking all over Manhattan in heels and by practicing aerial pole fitness and Ashtanga yoga. If I didn't live in New York, I'd love to live in Vienna, where I used to live by the Naschmarkt when I was studying abroad. I love animals and grew up riding horses every summer. I'd love to be able to ride again more regularly some day. I can't stand audible chewing. I guess that just about covers it for now!

Theo

This is an homage to Theo, my wonderful little yorkie buddy. I enjoyed 5 wonderful years with him and miss him very much. I hope to get another dog some day when the time is right!

Arielle Doneson is a splendid and fabulous photographer with whom I've been working for several years. She's taken all the headshots and promos you see on this site. After multiple shoots, I can safely say I trust noone's eye more. She's also one of the warmest, friendliest, upbeat, and positive people I know in the business. She truly loves what she does and I could not recommend her more highly!

Another brilliant photographer, Cory specializes in shooting stage productions and has a knack for capturing the most special moments. I've been lucky enough to have him shoot several productions I've performed in, AND he's taken all of my cabaret photos (such as the one directly to your right;) Check out his site, breathtaking stuff!

If I could sing with any organization under any conductor, it would be under William Christie in Les Arts Florissants. Their production of Purcell's Fairy Queen at BAM last year blew my mind. I laughed until I cried during the rabbit number and will never forget their breathtaking version of "Hush no more." Youtube it, that's all I can say!

I have gotten really into aerial pole fitness lately. I even installed a pole at my apartment--I'm OBSESSED! The studio at body and pole is beautiful, and the instructors there are some of the best and highest ranking competitive aerial pole dancers in the nation. Funnest, most liberating and confidence building form of exercise ever.

Most beautiful and inspiring singing I've ever heard live and a singer who's artistry and body of work I look up to very much. I heard her Cleopatra in Houston years ago and have been hooked ever since. When people talk about "the best," she sets the bar for me! Informative site for young singers, too!

From composer to audience: wonderful organization dedicated to bringing the audience closer to music, opera, artists, and composers with performances that are often stripped and broken down to reveal the composition and artistic process. Founded by conductor/vocal coach/pianist/harpsichordist/violinist Jennifer Peterson, some of Operamission's recent projects include Cosi FanTutte: Some assembly required, Winterreise, and various Handel concerts.

On April 20th 2006, five of the most wonderful friends and colleagues I have ever known from Indiana University were lost in a plane crash on their way back from a rehearsal. You can see the smiling faces of Chris and Robert in my photo and video galleries, on their personal websites listed above, and at http://music.indiana.edu/publicity/tragedy/2006-04-21/index.shtml. They have made some terrific recordings during their time on this earth.  I miss and love you guys more than words can say.
